Look How Far a Little Comfort Can Travel
Reflecting on a year of growth, gratitude and thousands of moments of comfort and looking ahead to all the children we have yet to reach.
When we look back at the past year, it’s easy to focus on the numbers.
More hospitals. More ComfortKits. More plush companions. More communities reached.
But at Creature Comfort Foundation, we know the most important part of our story can’t be measured by numbers alone.
Behind every delivery is a child.
A child entering an unfamiliar hospital room. A child waiting for a procedure. A family navigating uncertainty. A moment when something as simple as opening a ComfortKit or hugging a new plush companion can make an overwhelming day feel just a little less frightening.
Those moments are why we do this.
From One Small Act to a Growing Network of Comfort
What began with one simple act of kindness has grown into a network of more than 120 hospital and community partners across 40 states, Washington, D.C. and Canada.
Together, we have now donated 12,698 items to children and families, including 6,080 ComfortKits and 6,618 plush companions.
Every one of those items represents something much bigger than what fits inside a box.
It represents comfort. Distraction. Encouragement. Joy.
And most importantly, it reminds a child that someone is thinking about them.
None of This Happens Alone
This past year has reminded us just how many people it takes to create those moments.
Our hospital partners and Child Life teams put these resources directly into the hands of children who need them. Volunteers give their time and energy. Families, friends and advocates share our story. Organizations open doors to new partnerships.
And our donors make it possible for the next box to be packed and the next delivery to happen.
Every act of support becomes part of a much larger story.
For that, we are incredibly grateful.
But There Is So Much More to Do
We’re proud of how far Creature Comfort has come, but we’re even more inspired by where we can go next.
There are more hospitals we want to reach.
More Child Life teams we want to support.
More partnerships we want to build.
And most importantly, so many more children who deserve a moment of comfort during one of the hardest moments of their lives.
