Bringing Smiles to Westchester: Creature Comfort Foundation Delivers ComfortKits and Slumberkins to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital
Valhalla, NY — The Creature Comfort Foundation continues its mission to deliver comfort and compassion to young patients across the country with its latest donation to Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, part of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). Located in Valhalla, New York, the hospital is a nationally recognized leader in pediatric care, designed to provide exceptional medical treatment in a child-first environment.
This month, the Creature Comfort team delivered a new shipment of ComfortKits and Slumberkins therapeutic plush toys, designed to offer emotional support and ease anxiety for children undergoing treatment. Each ComfortKit is filled with thoughtfully selected items that support mental and emotional well-being in hospital settings.
Natalie Surin, Manager of Central Development Initiatives at WMCHealth, shared her appreciation:
“This is amazing! When I walked in the building this morning, I noticed all the boxes. This will be great.”
The donation aligns with Creature Comfort’s growing national effort to support Child Life Specialists in creating moments of joy, comfort, and connection for children facing serious health challenges.
Ava Builione, Founder of Creature Comfort Foundation, added:
“We believe small acts can have a big impact. Seeing the joy and comfort these kits bring reminds us of the power of kindness, especially in medical settings where children need it most.”
This partnership with Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital represents another step forward in Creature Comfort’s mission to ensure no child faces a medical journey alone.
