New York, NY — June 2025 – Teen founder Ava Builione of the Creature Comfort Foundation brought her nonprofit’s mission to life with a special appearance on KidZone TV, the in-house broadcast studio at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital. The segment brought joy, connection, and comfort to pediatric patients and families across the hospital.

Broadcast live from inside Mount Sinai’s Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Department, the KidZone TV studio creates educational and entertaining programming just for children in the hospital. During the special feature, Ava hosted a spirited round of “Comfort Pictionary,” where young viewers and patients shared drawings of the things that bring them comfort. Ava joyfully guessed each drawing, creating a warm, interactive moment that connected the entire hospital community.

She also read from the Creature Comfort Storybook, sharing uplifting stories of resilience, bravery, and self-soothing strategies. Each tale introduces a comforting character designed to help children manage stress and navigate challenging moments with courage.

Every child who participated received a Creature ComfortKit and a Slumberkins plushie, filled with thoughtfully chosen sensory tools, creative activities, and supportive affirmations. The donation is part of the Foundation’s national effort to support the emotional well-being of pediatric patients in hospitals through the generosity of donors and partnerships with Child Life teams.

“It was powerful to see a teen leading with kindness and compassion,” the KidZone TV team shared. “Ava reminded us how strong young voices can be when they speak from the heart.”

Creature Comfort Foundation, continues to grow its impact with hospitals across the country. With support from partners, donors, and volunteers, the Foundation is committed to providing comfort and care to children undergoing medical treatment—one kit, one story, and one smile at a time.
