Creature Comfort Delivers ComfortKits and Slumberkins to Ochsner Children’s Hospital

New Orleans, LA — The Creature Comfort Foundation is proud to announce a meaningful donation of ComfortKits and Slumberkins to Ochsner Children’s Hospital, supporting the emotional wellbeing of pediatric patients receiving care at one of Louisiana’s most respected children’s medical centers.

Designed in collaboration with child life specialists, Creature Comfort’s ComfortKits include curated items to provide therapeutic relief, emotional support, and a sense of normalcy during hospital stays. Accompanying the kits are plush Bigfoot and Sprite Slumberkins—character-based creatures that promote self-esteem and emotional regulation.

The donation was coordinated with Demi Newton, MS, Certified Child Life Specialist (Pediatric Acute) at Ochsner, who shared:

“Thank y'all so much for this resource and providing joy to our patients in the hospital setting.”

Ochsner Children’s Hospital, part of Ochsner Health, is the region’s leading provider of pediatric care, serving thousands of children across the Gulf South. Their team of child life specialists plays a crucial role in supporting children emotionally and developmentally throughout their medical journey.

This donation is part of Creature Comfort Foundation’s broader mission to bring comfort, connection, and care to children undergoing medical treatment across the country—working hand-in-hand with hospital teams to meet kids where they are.

“We are honored to partner with Ochsner Children’s and help bring a little more ease and joy to these brave kids and their families,” said Ava Petersen, Creature Comfort Foundation Ambassador. “It’s the small gestures that truly make a big impact.”
