Creature Comfort Foundation Donates to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in South Carolina
Creature Comfort Foundation recently brought comfort and joy to children receiving care at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Upstate in Greenville, South Carolina with the delivery of its signature ComfortKits and therapeutic Slumberkins plush toys.
Located in the heart of South Carolina, Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Upstate is known for delivering exceptional, family-centered pediatric care. As a regional leader in child health, the hospital’s team of specialists provides comprehensive services from emergency care to long-term treatment, always with a focus on the emotional and developmental needs of young patients.
Creature Comfort’s latest donation included both Slumberkins Bigfoot and Sprite plushies, which are paired with educational storybooks designed to help children explore feelings and build emotional resilience. The ComfortKits, curated by pediatric care specialists and the Creature Comfort team, include calming sensory tools, a creature-themed activity book, stickers, crayons, and personal touches to bring children comfort and distraction during their medical journey.
“Our patients in our Pediatric Emergency Department are loving the Slumberkins,” said Anna Marie Vernau, BS, CCLS, Certified Child Life Specialist at Prisma Health. “They are loving the ComfortKits too! Those were so thoughtfully curated. Thank you so much, Creature Comfort Team.”
This donation is part of Creature Comfort Foundation’s national outreach mission to partner with hospitals and child life specialists, offering emotional and sensory support tools to children navigating the hospital experience.
“Our goal is simple: to bring light and comfort to children when they need it most,” said Ava Builione, Founder of Creature Comfort Foundation. “We are thrilled to partner with the Prisma Health team and look forward to more opportunities to support their incredible work.”
