Creature Comfort Foundation Expands to Over Half the U.S., Partnering with Hospitals to Deliver ComfortKits and Slumberkins
Creature Comfort Foundation has reached a major milestone in its mission to bring emotional support and comfort to children undergoing medical care. The nonprofit, founded by high school student Ava Builione, is now proudly partnered with hospitals, clinics, and child life programs in more than half of the United States, with new partnerships forming every month.
Through thoughtful donations of ComfortKits and Slumberkins plush companions, Creature Comfort Foundation continues to create moments of calm and joy for children facing medical challenges. Each ComfortKit includes carefully selected tools such as activity books, crayons, stress toys, and sensory items, all designed to help young patients cope with anxiety and feel more at ease during their hospital stay.
“Our goal has always been simple,” said Ava Builione, founder of Creature Comfort Foundation. “To remind children that even during difficult times, they are cared for and supported. Seeing our ComfortKits and Slumberkins reach more hospitals every month shows how powerful kindness can be when we work together.”
Creature Comfort Foundation’s partnerships with Child Life Specialists and hospital care teams are the heart of its mission. By collaborating directly with pediatric programs, the foundation ensures that each donation meets the emotional and developmental needs of patients—from emergency rooms and oncology wards to NICUs and behavioral health units.
Now, with growing presence in states across the country, the foundation is calling on hospitals and Child Life Specialists in new regions to connect and bring Creature Comfort’s mission to their communities.
“We’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, but there’s still so much more to do,” said Stacia Burke, Head of Community Outreach. “We’re inviting hospitals and pediatric programs—especially in states we haven’t reached yet—to partner with us. Together, we can bring comfort to every child who needs it.”
Creature Comfort Foundation is also encouraging supporters to help sustain its mission through one-time or recurring donations. Every contribution helps fund new hospital partnerships, expand outreach, and provide more ComfortKits and Slumberkins to children nationwide.
