ComfortKit 2.0 Launches Nationwide, Bringing More Joy and Comfort to Children in Hospitals

The Creature Comfort Foundation, founded by Ava Builione, is proud to announce the launch of ComfortKit 2.0, an upgraded version of its signature program that delivers comfort, creativity, and emotional support to children facing medical challenges across the United States. Watch the unboxing here on our instagram!

Since its founding, the Creature Comfort Foundation has partnered with hospitals and Child Life Specialists nationwide to provide children with tools that ease anxiety, spark joy, and create a sense of normalcy during their hospital stays. The ComfortKit program has quickly become one of the Foundation’s most impactful initiatives— and now it’s even better.

What’s Inside ComfortKit 2.0

Each ComfortKit 2.0 has been thoughtfully curated to bring both comfort and creativity to young patients. The new kits include:

  • Crayola Crayons and Play-Doh (new additions)

  • Creature Comfort Storybook with activity pages and stickers

  • Notebook and colorful pen

  • Multi-color Pop-It and fidget spinner

  • Stress toy and wristband

  • A heartfelt greeting card signed with love from founder Ava Builione

The ComfortBox itself doubles as a coloring canvas and keepsake container, so children can continue to use it long after the kit has been opened.

A Mission of Comfort and Connection

“Our mission is simple yet powerful: Small acts. Big impact. ComfortKit 2.0 is about giving children a chance to smile, feel supported, and know they’re not alone,” said Ava Builione, founder of the Creature Comfort Foundation. “Every kit is a reminder that compassion and creativity can be a part of healing.”

Hospital Partnerships and Impact

Creature Comfort Foundation works closely with Child Life Specialists, who play a crucial role in providing emotional support to pediatric patients and their families. These specialists ensure ComfortKits reach the children who need them most, whether in oncology, surgical recovery, NICU, or emergency care.

Hospitals across the country have already embraced the ComfortKit program, sharing stories of how the kits have brought moments of joy, calm, and bonding for families in challenging circumstances. With the launch of ComfortKit 2.0, the Foundation is expanding its reach and deepening its impact.
