Slumberkins Bigfoot Kin Brings Smiles to Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City

Creature Comfort Foundation Donates Slumberkins Bigfoot Plushies to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City to Provide Emotional Support to Pediatric Patients

New York, NY — Creature Comfort Foundation is proud to announce its latest donation of therapeutic plush companions to the pediatric unit at Northwell Health's Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. Through this delivery of Slumberkins Bigfoot Kins, the foundation continues its mission of bringing emotional relief and comfort to children facing medical care across the country.

Known for their holistic and family-centered approach to care, Lenox Hill Hospital offers a full spectrum of pediatric services that support infants, children, and adolescents in a safe, compassionate environment. Child life specialists at the hospital work tirelessly to ease the stress of hospitalization for young patients and their families.

This week, the hospital's pediatric team received a shipment of Slumberkins Bigfoot plushies, each designed to promote emotional wellness, build self-esteem, and help children understand and regulate complex feelings.

“They were so excited to take them out of the box and immediately cuddle them. The parents were very appreciative and noted how the Slumberkins really helped their other children feel special and impacted their overall experience,” said Jennifer Reeves, MS, CCLS, Certified Child Life Specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital. “And thank YOU for creating this foundation and bringing comfort to children in the medical setting.”

Slumberkins Bigfoot, in particular, focuses on themes of self-esteem and resilience—two critical areas of emotional development for children undergoing medical treatment. These plushies are intentionally designed without any hard plastic components, making them safe for clinical settings and easy to clean.

This donation is part of Creature Comfort Foundation's growing outreach program, delivering both Slumberkins plushies and My ComfortKit coping boxes to hospitals nationwide. The nonprofit works closely with child life teams and medical staff to provide tools that enhance emotional care in pediatric settings.

"Whether it’s a plush to hold during a tough procedure or a storybook that makes a child feel seen, every donation matters," said Ava Builione, Founder of Creature Comfort Foundation. "We’re honored to support the incredible work being done by the team at Lenox Hill Hospital."

Creature Comfort Foundation invites hospitals and child life specialists to reach out and explore partnership opportunities. Donations from supporters help expand the reach of these vital comfort resources to children who need them most.
